The Cartels performed a blinder in London on Friday!

they'd like to express appreciation for everybody involved in making it such a tremendous night! Huuuuuuge thanks to The Tivoli, Alex Warhurst, Piky, Jenny Theolin, Soapbox Events and Great Western Studio's. Special thanks to PIKY inparticular as the whole concept of the evening was his brainchild, and it was his amazing canvasses in front of which we performed!!

The Cartels are delighted to invite you to what promises to be an extra special landmark gig in West London.

In a unique collaboration with our friends urban artist PIKY and fellow Sheffield band The Tivoli, a dynamic fusion of underground art and music will draw the Alien Nation Art Exhibition to a spectacular climax! Spurred on by a backdrop of art pieces especially created for the show by PIKY, The Cartels will lay bare their souls, brandishing their imperious arsenal of Northern rock'n'soul.

Followed up by an aftershow party at the legendary Masons Arms, 655 Harrow Road, London, NW10 5NU, this promises to be a truly memorable occasion which will go long into the night.

Admission to this event is FREE but is by invitation only.

The Cartels have been nominated in various guises and categories for this years Sheffield Scenester Awards

before joining The Cartels, singer Scoff was known as Real Gone Kid, his "carry The Soul" EP was reviewed by Sheffield Scenester and is nominated as being one of the Best Top 3 EP's reviewed

guitarist DT is also nominated for Best Solo Artist due to his various appearances outside of the band playing his own breed of acoustic delayed folk

The Cartels - Club 60 Session

Deep in the cellar of Club 60, The Cartels recorded 2 tracks - "Shake, Rattle & Roll" and "True Love Spreads" - both of which are sounding beautiful

The Cartels & their new management are now making the preperations for a release in 2011 - as well as these recordings they had the pleasure of using Alex Warhurst as engineer for their recent Detroit Social Club support, Alex recorded and mixed the entire gig, these recordings are in The Cartels vault ready for 2011 along with a DVD of the performance.

The Cartels have been quiet again for a while, not intentionally it's just the boring parts are better not publicised unless you want to promote sleep in your fans.

Although The Cartels guitarist hasn't been as quiet, DT took to the stage on Monday 1st November in support of Driftrun at the now infamous SOYO Live night at SOYO, Sheffield.

The Cartels are taking a break from Live performance to get back into the sweaty Shalesmoor studio and work on some digital media [recording]

They'll be recording at Club 60 in October 2010 a 2 - 3 track Live Session with the aim of releasing this as a compact disc & digital download

Until then they'll be drinking, getting tattoed, DJing, smoking tabs, playing acoustic in random venues and generally taking a well deserved break from the live circuit

The Cartels will play The Frog and Parrot, Division Street, Sheffield on 27 August 2010.

A venue The Cartels hold dear to their hearts since their performance there at Tramlines 2009, the atmosphere in the place can be very exciting and for that show it certainly was.

Support comes from One Long Man - a local acoustic artist and friend of the band, there's something very special in his performance and he never fails to engage an audience.

This is a date The Cartels are looking forward to, we've already had a fantastic response from fans this year and with the size of the venue expect the night to be a busy one so get down early.

After a storming couple of gigs over TRAMLINES, a not so good performance at Hoyland due to restrictions with the sound set up and a well earned weeks rest from the darkness of our Shalesmoor Studio.

The Cartels will return later this month with a headline gig [TBA] and an appearance at Weston Party, a charity event organised by fellow Sheffield band Driftrun

WESTON PARTY

We will be performing at Weston Party - a charity event which is being planned and arranged by another Sheffield band Driftrun in aid of The Sheffield Childrens Hospital.

The Sheffield Childrens Hospital is an asset to the city and provides specialist care to children up to the age of 16. It not only treats children in South Yorkshire but from all over the UK. The hospital relies on donations from charity events to ensure their equipment is up to date and they can offer the best care possible to unfortunate children who fall ill.

It's a very worthy cause and the planners have arranged volunteers to go around the site during the gig asking for donations, small or large, anything will help to make a difference to the children who are forced to visit the hospital.
